We could’ve had it all, rolling in the deep, you had my heart and soul

British singer Adele first rose to fame in 2008 with the release of her debut album 19 featuring the amazing tracks “Chasing Pavements”, “Cold Shoulder” & “Hometown Glory”. It’s three years later and she’s been promoting the follow-up album – the aptly titled 21 - and I must say I’m even more impressed with her this time around. The lead single from the album – “Rolling In The Deep” – has slowly been building up speed over the last couple of months and has turned into an International hit for her; it debuted at #2 in the United Kingdom, the music video has been viewed almost 13 000 000 times on Youtube, the song is sitting in the Top 10 on the US iTunes & will likely climb into Billboard’s Top 40 come this week Thursday. The song is a favourite of mine at the moment and I am really glad to see it going places.

This post would certainly not do Adele justice if I just posted about one song from the album. The second track I want to draw your attention to is the ballad and potential single “Someone Like You” (below). I’m not posting the studio version because I want you to go out and buy 21 so instead I’ve posted her performance of the track at the 2011 Brit Awards. Her voice is amazing and I am extremely happy to see her crossing over into a bigger audience and a global market. Keep an eye on her.

Would like to know the behind the scenes of the video “we could of had it all” Whats the meaning of the the female dancer in the white dust? Whats the meaning of the white emerald city on the table? Whats the meaning of the china busting the wall?

  10. Maybe there is a meaning to it but you just don’t see it. The female dancer in the white dust; that is for dramatic purposes which did greatly fulfill its purpose in the video. With the white emerald city with it catching on fire and sparks and all. This song is about her and this certain man that she was with and that emotionally hurt her so she had to break up with him. So the emerald city is her emotional world crashing down. Have you ever heard the saying, my world is crashing down around me? When someone says that; the world is not literally crashing down around them, it is a metaphor. With the emerald city they are showing you the metaphor. And for the Chines guy, the whole video is different; there is one surprise after another and another. So having the Chines guy there just adds to the dramatic scenes in the video and him punching a hole in the wall. It’s just showing that not just her emotions are sad but angry and frustrated as well. This is my opinion of what it all means. I hope it helped.
