We could’ve had it all, rolling in the deep, you had my heart and soul
British singer Adele first rose to fame in 2008 with the release of her debut album 19 featuring the amazing tracks “Chasing Pavements”, “Cold Shoulder” & “Hometown Glory”. It’s three years later and she’s been promoting the follow-up album – the aptly titled 21 - and I must say I’m even more impressed with her this time around. The lead single from the album – “Rolling In The Deep” – has slowly been building up speed over the last couple of months and has turned into an International hit for her; it debuted at #2 in the United Kingdom, the music video has been viewed almost 13 000 000 times on Youtube, the song is sitting in the Top 10 on the US iTunes & will likely climb into Billboard’s Top 40 come this week Thursday. The song is a favourite of mine at the moment and I am really glad to see it going places.
This post would certainly not do Adele justice if I just posted about one song from the album. The second track I want to draw your attention to is the ballad and potential single “Someone Like You” (below). I’m not posting the studio version because I want you to go out and buy 21 so instead I’ve posted her performance of the track at the 2011 Brit Awards. Her voice is amazing and I am extremely happy to see her crossing over into a bigger audience and a global market. Keep an eye on her.
