It’s not about what you’ve done, it’s about what you doing – it’s all about where you going, no matter where you’ve been – let’s go

Calvin Harris is someone who I’ve been following in the music industry since 2009′s Ready For The Weekend. “I’m Not Alone”, “Limits”, “Flashback” & “You Used To Hold Me” were a bunch of his tracks that dominated my personal playlist in that time and I’ve been waiting anxiously for him to bring out a follow-up album since. His third studio album hasn’t been officially announced yet but singles “Bounce” with Kelis and “Feel So Close” have me ready and excited about what could potentially be one of the biggest albums out of the UK commercial DJ scene in 2012. The success of Rihanna‘s “We Found Love” worldwide has definitely put Harris on the map and I’m glad to see he’s getting recognition in both the US and UK markets these days.

The song I want to introduce to you today is the new single from his new project – a track called “Let’s Go” featuring R&B singer Ne-Yo. The electro-dance track with a heavy bassline is going to scorch up the charts and dancefloors around the world and it is the perfect choice for follow-up single to “Feel So Close”. Criticised by some for being too similar to “We Found Love”, I beg to differ and argue that this is a signature sound for Harris, who has been making productions like these for ages. Naturally there are going to be references to the beat of “We Found Love” but to those in that particular mindset I suggest taking a listen to the new Rihanna single “Where Have You Been” (also produced by Calvin Harris) to get a scope of what his range as a producer is. I would also say that it’s time to get on board with a sound that is going to dominate the industry in the coming months.

The song is not available on iTunes or Amazon just yet but if you like what you hear check back as I’ll be updating the post when it is officially released.

What do you think about “Let’s Go”?
