Global concepts uncommon the world round, but we share a mortal frame – did I leave my life to chance, or did I make you f***ing dance

Robert Delong is an Los Angeles based singer that is starting to generate a fair amount of buzz for himself and is looking to be someone to watch as we get into this new year! I’m told that the guy is planning on releasing his debut album (Just Movement) in 2013 and I’d like to introduce you to his music by sharing his single – “Global Concepts” – with you today. From what I can gather this is just an introduction to his twelve track electro-dance debut but I have to admit that I really like what I hear because it catches you on first listen.

The track was sent to me earlier this week and the discussion coupling it was that it starts off sounding like an indie track, which branches off into an electro/dance song and I have a feeling we could see this emerging as somewhat of a trend in the industry going forward. Radio stations are more hesitant to playlist songs that are very genre specific (i.e. pop, dubstep etc.) and I think that a fusion of genres not only pushes boundaries in as far as the industry is concerned, but also allows for experimentation which is necessary for any artist or band to grow. I’m always someone who is advocates for experimentation when it comes to new music and I am hoping that we’ll see many Top 40 hits this year that contain elements from multiple genre’s.

I was hooked on this one on first listen and I hope you will be hooked too – be sure to look out for him in the coming months and request the song on your local radio station if you like what you hear.

What do you think about “Global Concepts”?
